Devoted supporters of the pop star are calling for that a man who breached a fence and seized the actress during Thursday's Wicked: For Good premiere be taken into custody or removed from Singapore.
A widely shared footage reveals the Australian man pushing past camera operators and rushing toward Grande while the cast proceeded down a yellow carpet accompanied by supporters.
Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo quickly pulled the stunned actress away from Mr Wen, who was spotted being escorted out of the premiere by guards.
Mr Wen shared on Instagram recently that he was "released after being taken in", though official papers revealed that he was set to attend court on the following morning. It is not clear if he was charged.
This is not the first time for Mr Wen, who describes himself as a "Troll Most Hated", has disrupted a performance. His Instagram profile includes recordings of him disrupting other high-profile occasions, including rushing the platform at the artist's Sydney performance in recently and in a similar way during The Chainsmokers performance in the area last winter.
"There needs to be action enforced against him as this is evidently a legal violation," wrote an Instagram follower, in a message to a video Mr Wen uploaded of his act.
"You've done this repeatedly... how are you not behind bars?" a different Instagram user questioned.
Numerous fans blamed Mr Wen for "triggering past anxiety" Grande, who had spoken of dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder after a terrorist explosion at the conclusion of her spring 2017 show in Manchester, claiming the lives of 22 people and harming numerous individuals.
"The star has endured numerous terrifying experiences... including the Manchester tragedy, and you believed breaching security was amusing?" said another message on Instagram.
Some fans also criticised security officers at the gathering for not being vigilant enough; while others requested social media platforms to block Mr Wen's content.
In videos spreading on the internet, Grande seemed shocked when she was grabbed by the intruder. Her cast members Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be spotted reassuring her while Mr Wen was escorted away by security.
Grande has not issued a statement on the situation, and the rest of the event continued without further issues.
Hundreds of supporters had assembled in a sea of emerald and rose at the Wicked: For Good international premiere in a Singapore venue, including some who had waited for as long as many hours before it began.
The motion picture, to be launched on 21 November, is the follow-up of a two-part adaptation of the well-known Broadway and West End musical Wicked, which centers on the surprising friendship between two very different witches.
The musical itself is a adaptation of the twentieth-century book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
Grande, who plays the good witch Glinda, was dressed in a light pink sequin dress at the premiere while Erivo, who portrays the wicked witch, wore a sleek black dress embroidered with roses.
They were accompanied by co-star Jeff Goldblum.
The initial film, Wicked, was the most successful film of 2024 in the UK, and earned 10 Oscar nominations, securing two for best costume and artistic direction.
