Football Expert Sutton Faces Off Against Singer Olly Murs in Top Flight Predictions

The Gunners' ten-match winning streak came to an end by the Black Cats prior to the international break, but can the English top division leaders bounce back against north London rivals Spurs this Sunday?

"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," remarked football expert Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still find a way to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, against artificial intelligence, fans and a range of guests.

In week 12, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.

Murs' new album, the new release, is available on Friday.

Football and Parenting Experiences

Murs is a skilled footballer as well as a successful singer and has been a featured player of multiple charity football games down the years - but he is not planning a serious return as a footballer.

"{I recently played in a benefit match the other night for a mate of mine," he explained. "My team was losing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!

"I still love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too risky for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my child or son chooses to play instead."

Murs and his wife Amelia Tank have a young family, their daughter and their son, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their manager.

"I won't push football on our kids but I've previously told my wife that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be coaching their Saturday football team," he added.

"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously was involved with a soccer team for a while too.

"My dad did it with us when I was a child, which is probably where I inherited it. He coached our side for two or three seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Top Division Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues may have to wait a bit longer for their star's return from fitness issues but their offense is now stronger with Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.

In my opinion this fixture will be quite tight, however. The Clarets are well organised and their only home defeats so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.

It smells of a 1-1 tie to me, but I am actually going to go with Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

Olly's pick: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have been defeated in their previous couple games - although both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, West Ham won two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they do look competitive again.

The Hammers' sole away victory this season came at Forest in the summer, when their manager Nuno Espirito Santo was previously Forest manager.

So, what exactly do I predict here - can the Hammers extending their streak under their manager, or the home side responding?

I am going to go with Bournemouth, because I believe what happened against Aston Villa was a blip.

The pundit's prediction: 2-0

The guest's prediction: The home team are performing strongly but West Ham have picked up under their boss. 2-2

AI's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were considered one of the favourites for the drop before the season began, but they have surprised a few observers under their manager and are in fine fettle with three in their last four games.

My son told me to get Brentford striker Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.

The forward will likely score again on the weekend but I am still not going to select him or back Brentford at Amex Stadium.

The Bees have not had much success on the road this term, and the Seagulls are consistently decent at their stadium. Brentford will try to attack on the counter-attack but I think Fabian Hurzeler's side carry much more of a danger.

Sutton's forecast: 2-1

Olly's view: It could be a match where you think there is going to be a lot of goals but it in reality turns out to be quite close. 1-1

AI's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a massive game for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their past six matches.

Fulham have have lots of quality in their team but it still feels like they could be sucked into a drop zone fight.

Regarding the Black Cats, well they are the surprise package of the top flight campaign so far.

Their performance in the 2-2 tie with the Gunners last time out was superb. We have not seen anyone else rough up the North London side like that this term, and they were fully competitive for them.

The sensible thing would be to back the visitors here, because they are obviously capable of disrupting the hosts up too and, the last time they were in west London, they beat Chelsea at the close of last month.

But I am not do that. Instead, I really need to continue opposing the away team with my predictions. I am taking a lot of credit for their good results because they clearly enjoy to prove me wrong.

Looking at Fulham's home record, the only team they have lost to is Arsenal. Marco Silva's team will be extremely eager for a good result, so I am going to predict they will secure three points.

The expert's forecast: 1-0

Olly's prediction: I'm aware the visitors are performing strongly and additionally that the hosts are on a bad run... but they have still been decent at home this season. 2-0

The algorithm's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a hard one to predict. Liverpool have lost seven of their last ten games in every tournament, but could they be among the sides who benefit from the {international break|
