The Spanish giants acquired Trent Alexander-Arnold with a six-year contract
Trent Alexander-Arnold's rehabilitation is advancing according to plan, giving a chance that the Madrid defender could return in time to play against his former team Liverpool in November's European encounter.
The 27-year-old international experienced a muscle strain while playing against Ligue 1 club Marseille in the group stage of the competition on 16 September.
Alexander-Arnold had to leave the pitch in the fifth minute, with early reports indicating a possible absence of up to a month and a half.
Real Madrid will travel to face Liverpool on 4 November for the European fixture—precisely seven weeks since the incident took place.
Reports close to the situation suggest that the defender's comeback is moving along positively, and there is hope that Alexander-Arnold may achieve his initial return to Anfield after signing for Real Madrid in June.
A devoted Liverpool supporter, Alexander-Arnold earlier stated that departing from the team he entered as a six-year-old youth talent was the "toughest decision he has ever made."
During his tenure with the Reds, Alexander-Arnold made over 350 appearances, contributing to claim multiple Premier League titles, a Champions League, and the FA Cup.
After joining to Madrid, Alexander-Arnold has appeared on five occasions in all competitions, accumulating 156 minutes of playing time.
